I have decorated each room in my house by themes.
Like my kitchen is more of the country theme, living room sunflowers theme, ss room train/car theme, guest room bear theme, and master room beach/lighthouse theme.
main bathroom, sun & stars theme, and master bathroom beach theme.
Even my laundry room is the American theme!!
I just wonder if i am weird or if anyone else has decorated by themes.

Honestly i don't decorate. My house is white plain walls, simple furnishing and not too much excitement at all. Maybe in the future.

MY house is decorated in muted colors that I love like deep purple, gold, deep red, saphire blue and olive green. Both of my kids did their own rooms with what colors they liked
My daughters is purple, lime green and 3 different shades of blue (her bedding colors). My sons is burgandy, navy blue and tan.
I love the color deep purple so much I have it in every room of my house except my son's room and the unfinished basement.
My style and taste is old world meets southern belle.

I don't really decorate either. Our house has the colors and window coverings it had when we bought it. Our furniture is nice, but we did not pick it out, we have it because it was given to us or else really, really cheap. Personally, I don't really care how things are decorated. I would rather put my time and money into other things.

I usd to have a "theme" for every room as well and over the years it has changed. It's been anythihng from sunflowers, light houses, bird houses, floppy bunnies....I have done it all. I stopped w/ all the themes b/c i think I've done them all and I'm sick of looking at the same 'ol thing! I can't really define my style kind of artsy...contemporary w/ a bunch of Boston Red Sox decor thrown into the mix!!! LOL!

I love to decorate although I'm really not sure what STYLE I like! I think it's considered Transitional and Eclectic!
We've redone ALMOST our entire house and will probably finish the last 2 rooms before we put our house on the market in the next few years or so. In my living room & hallways I have a basic tan on the walls. Our living room has one chocolate brown wall. The formal living room (now playroom) that is VERY open to the living room has brown walls. The kitchen & nook (also open to the living room) have red walls. Basically everything in these rooms are red, brown & tan. (with the exception of green couches in the LR & plum colored couches in the playroom)
My older boys room is pretty plain - just blue walls! I was planning a racing stripe around the room, but we'll see!
My nursery is green. I wanted it to work for a boys room or a girls room since we painted it when we only had the 1 boy!
My room is an olive green. DH picked the color and he did good! We love it! It sorta has a safari-ish flair, although the safari accessories have mostly been removed since we don't have many flat surfaces to put things!
Overall, I love Reds, browns, greens.... warm, outdoorsy colors! I tend to lean toward sophisticated fabrics (silks) when I can, but I also go for a comfy look. I want people to feel comfortable in my house to come in and plop their feet up. I always think 'sophisticated comfort' when I buy something!
(NOTE: I'm not at ALL sophisticated.... just like the look!)

ditto
We have made our furniture work for us, slipcovers, ikea and target are my friends! I have white walls and there are a few paintings done by artist friends, family photos, a wreath made of dried wedding flowers and a picture from my Grandpas house in the living room. Ds's room is light green, with other splashes of color thrown in, I'm not a theme type person. We do have duckies in our bathroom though.
My goal with my house is for it to be cozy and comfortable, while still looking nice. When my kids are grown, maybe I'll worry about having super nice things, until then I don't want to have to worry about stuff getting ruined and having to create off limits areas in my house.

If you like themes in your home then you shouldn't feel weird. Whatever makes you feel comfortable at home. I decorated my first house in a country theme w/the kitchen in sunflowers, bathrooms had beach theme. At the time, I didn't have any other hobbies or children.
My current home does not have a theme but we have lots of ski stuff. We have a lift chair in our basement that you see as soon as you come in the door. I have framed ski posters in the basement including a poster of Bode Miller that my husband won't let me hang in the bedroom . I have family pictures and more ski posters upstairs. My girls have disney princess in their rooms. I was able to get a lot of the princess stuff for free with my Disney rewards!
