I've been getting the Office Depot brand and like it just as good as the HP brand. Plus if you bring your old one in, they'll give you a few bucks off the price of your new one. I am sure Staples is comperable.

You can try buying a generic on ebay as well. I Have a canon, and just purcHased a refill kit through ebay for 8.99.... free shipping. I got it and it was easy to do. The best thing is I have enough black ink to fill it again!
