I do my in the afternoon & late night. I'm usually on the computer or out of the house or playing w/ my kids during the day. Late afternoon (before DH gets home) I do a mad dash around the entire house - pick-up, make beds...We eat, watch tv, bath, & bed. Then after kids are asleep I clean my kitchen & can fold my laundry w/out kids messing it up, & straighten up the living room once more before I head to bed.

I am cleaning all day long!!! I feel like I follow the kids around picking up after them. I too have specific clean ups I do on specific days and I write out a to do list the night before bed or I couldn't sleep at night. I still feel like there isn't enough time in the day to get everything done. Oh just thinking about it! Calgon take me away!!

I have a chore list of what I will clean on what day. Until recently that helped me keep on track and get a lot done. The past few weeks I have been in a slump and don't get much done but the basics. I used to clean in the morning and through out the day as I could with 2 little ones needing me too. Now I am doing the mad dash before dh gets home so it looks like something got done. I think it is stress and a little depression is why I haven't been able to keep up as before. But you know what the laundry gets done the bathrooms get cleaned and the kitchen gets cleaned daily. so who cares. :D It will just be dirty again tomorrow. with 5 kids how would anything stay clean?

I do everything in the morning. By afternoon I am burnt. By evening, I am dead!
I try my best to clean up the kitchen as I get things ready for breakfast and lunch. That way things don't accumulate. When the boys are sitting and eating, I tend to do the vacuming and cleaning the bathrooms at that point. When they are sleeping, if I want to, I will dust and fold laundry then.

I use to be a cleaning fanatic. My dh would say that I was compulsive about it. When I got put on Zoloft it took my compulsion away. I'm not sure that is a good thing.
I will do my bathroom cleaning when my dd is in the tub. I usually clean my kitchen in the afternoon and then again before bed. My floors get done whenever they get done. I couldn't tell you the last time the floor was mopped.
I tend to just walk past the kids rooms. I don't even want to look in there. And my room, well it gets done whenever I am tired of stepping over stacks of laundry.
I know I sound horrible. I just don't feel like cleaning. My house is generally picked up where company usually is, but as for the rest, I will get to it when I am good and ready.

Before bed I tidy up, pick up what have you, but the general cleaning (bathrooms and such) has to wait until the weekend as I work full time.

I usually do most of my cleaning in the morning after I put dd on the bus. I like do my "heavy" cleaning (washing floors, windows, bathrooms, etc) before I shower. Light things like dusting I'll do in the afternoon.

What I aim to do: I have a "schedule" which is a basic list of things to do each day. Pick up kitchen (clear counters, dishes in sink, floor swept), vacuum living room, pick up toys, make beds, laundry folded & put away, bathroom tidy. If I do it everyday, it takes about a half hour or so to do it all. Then I have a "project" for each day. If I get to it, great. If not, oh well. Tomorrow's another day. "Project"s include washing kitchen/bathroom tile floors, dusting, changing sheets on beds, grocery shopping/errands, cleaning out fridge, thorough bathroom cleaning (toilet, bath, etc).
May seem like it's really strict, but it isn't. If I don't get something done, that's just life. Playing outside in the leaves or taking my kid to the library is more important than having a kitchen floor Martha-Stewart-clean. Managing my household is very important to me, as we must be good stewards of what the Lord has given to us. But I also know that every day that passes is one you can't get back. There is a balance, and I strive to maintain it. A lot of times, my son helps with my housecleaning. It takes a little longer (I have to fold the same clothes about 17 times) but I'm teaching him responsibility and basic skills of managing his possessions. Believe you me, when our kids are older, they will have chores, and contribute to the running of the household. But for now, I do the best I can with what is laid before me. Sure there are some days that I do the bare minimum to get through the day and then run around like a maniac a half hour before DH gets home, making things look good. I even have days (Lord forgive me!) that I throw the unfolded laundry back into the dryer to make it disappear. I may be a pastor's wife, but I never said I was perfect!! LOL

I like the project idea. I've been trying to adopt something like that myself, but i've not been successful. It seems like when I ever I try to do something new, the baby chooses that night not sleep well or to not take naps and then I loose all motivation. (Hence the typing right now when I should be doing something productive!)
