Read this tip in a magazine and thought I would share:

Recycle those soap slivers by putting them in an empty pump bottle. Add water and shake to turn them into liquid hand soap.

Great tip. The other thing we do is we use a foaming hand pump. When the soap runs out we just fill it with 1/8 dish soap for sensitive hands, and 7/8 water, give it a little shake and it works great to use again and again. It saves a ton of money on hand soap.

I love this tip...I never know what to do with those slivers and it always bugs me to throw them out. I've tried putting them into my pouf sponge in the showever, but they kept falling out. Thanks!

Ooo does this work well? Has anyone tried it? I make hand soaps for kids and sell them so it would be cool to have something to do w/ the extra peices.

Yes it does work. I have been making my own hand soap for about 10 years. I saved one of the store brought bottles and after I melt the bar soap in a glass jar with hot water, then I place it in the store brought bottle and refill the small one on the sink whenever they are empty.
