My kids each have a tv running through-out the evening, for noise and light. I had nightlights on in rooms that weren't even occupied. I had my entertainment stuff on without knowing, I had alarm clocks in rooms that no one ever uses them. I finally decide to cut out those things at night. We don't need tv's on all night when kids end up in our bed half way through anyhow. We don't need alarm clocks on that aren't being used. SO I moved it into my kitchen where I will use it while baking...ect. I took all my night lights out and will put one nightlight in the hallway but that's it. I also changed the kids' bedtime routine about the tv situation. They are allowed tv until 8pm. The tv auto shuts off at 8pm and the girls each know that it means it's bedtime. No if's and's or but's in our house about it. Once they are off there is NO bribing to get tv's on. So this will allow us to turn off the dvd players off on our way to bed. I'm curious to see what this will change in our bill. What terrible habits I had and didn't even realize it!
AWESOME that you saved so much money on your bill! I agree..THANK you MommySavers for all your tips!!
