When it comes to watering plants/flowers/garden how do you save water? Do you recycle rain water?
I use the water from the dehumidifier in the basement on the flowers.
We have a sump pump, and the line isn't buried yet. I have the watering can prompted under the hose outside. Hopefully I will get enough water that way as well.
I also read that you should water in early mornings or in the evening when the sun goes down.

We had a lot of flooding recently and we have big puddles everywhere, we also have a pond (that is overfull). When its time to water outside plants I use that water, Im just to afraid to bring the water in my house after its been sitting for days.

we use the dehumidifier water and we have a rain barrel. we only use the hose if both those are empty( and its been raining since saturday so we have lots stored).

Is it true that you shouldn't catch rain water from directly off the roof of your house, like putting buckets underneath downspouts to catch water? I thought i read somewhere something about the chemicals in roofing shingles or whatever is bad for plants? Anyone know?
