On Monday my washer started leaking It is just over a year and a half old, but I do ALOT of laundry so I was worried. What I found out was that it was over-sudsing and therefore overflowing the drum!!! And I never use but about 1/2 the amount on the detergent directions. The nice repairman told me to only use 1/4 the recommended amount at the most. He said that HE washers should also never use more than a tablespoon of detergent. (He also did not charge me for the service call) So ladies, save money on your laundry detergent and save your washing machines: Use less detergent!!

He didn't charge you?! That is amazing!

And thanks for the tip. I've always tried to use as little as I thought I could get away with.

I NEVER use the full amount, but I use about half. I think I'll cut that down to 1/4 now, thanks!

I think that was one of the first tips I Learned from Mommy savers

I Have an HE washer too. - and I Cut back to half , and Noticed no difference, recently I Cut back to 1/4 for Normal Loads, still no Difference ! Clothes are Just as Clean!
I Also have been using less dishwasher Detergent and Other cleaners like Bleach.
I Definatly think I Am Seeing better Results.

I don't use the full amount either. And it last me twice as long. That was nice that he didn't charge you.

That was nice to know that was all that was wrong and nothing major. I also don't use the full amount, but I am even going to cut that down, thanks for the tip!!!
