What frugal things do you do to keep your house smelling nice?

I put "oil" in my vacuum filter so every time I vacuum all you smell is cinnamon and nutmeg (smells so good!). Another thing I do is use a candle warmer- now I don't have to worry about soot from the candles to clean and the candles last a lot longer!

Keep the laundry caught up, dirty clothes can really smell up a room. I learned this from having a brother !

Exactly! I don't use any 'home scents'...IMO, a clean house smells 'good', nothing else necessary!

I am not much of a scent person either. I have alot of allergies to smells.

Unfortunately, right now our house mostly smells like "puppy" or the Lysol used to try and get rid of the smell!

I do the oil in the vacuum cleaner, too. Sometimes I make a little spray with essential oil and water and spritz it around the house. Although, the essential oil isn't very frugal. I have heard to have little saucers of vinegar around the house to absorb odors. I do agree with skimommy and Oregano, I love opening the windows and getting fresh air.

I light candles and Tarts. I know thats not frugual but its one of my little guilty pleasures. Besides I have a whole basket of yankee candle tarts that I have had for a few years lol. So i guess its frugal cause I didnt hae to spend any money cause I already had them?

I will open the windows, have liquid or dried potpourri set out, make sure laundry gets done, just cleaning with a little bleach will give the house a clean smell.

Although not frugal, we do the BBW scented oils w/ an oil burner. I only buy the oils when they are on sale and really discounted though. And those little bottles last a long time. We also have one of those glade wisps I got through bzzagent. That's nice. Plus, in the winter, a nice fire, I love that smell.

I sometimes sprinkle lavender blossoms on the carpet and then vacuum them up. Smells like lavendar for awhile. I guess it's frugal because the flowers are from my plants. Would be pricey if I had to buy them. Also, I sprinkle baking soda on the carpet before vacuuming.
