I'm working part time for Safeway (which is also Von's, Dominicks, Genuardrs, Randalls, Tom Thumb, Pavilions, and Carrs so I'm assuming that it is the same for them) has really good health insurance for its part time employees. As long as you work 24 hours a week for three months. I was told that they even have a dental / optical plan (supposed to be pretty good) after you've been there 1 or 2 years. The person I was talking too couldn't remember.

When I started this job, I wasn't planning to keep it forever but if it provides goodinsurance for my family?! Maybe. We always got insurance through my husband's work but with us starting our own business ... we'll see. At least until we get going with his business!

Anyway, just a thought!

That's good. I know at my work, we have to work 30 hours in order to carry insurance. I wish it was 24 hours, I'd jump at those hours!

BTW, what about your federal job you applied for? Did anything come of it?

Nothing yet. But with the feds does it just take them a long time? Especially with all the upheaval going on? Or did I fill out their 4 part application wrong. I'm really worried that I might have sent one of those parts in wrong. I have no way of telling. When I called the actual local office she said she couldn't tell until they sent her a list of applicants and recommended I call wherever I emailed the stuff -- and you know there is no phone number on that. I even attempted to reply to the email that says they received some of the parts but that didn't work either.

I did talk to a friend of mine that says, "You should have asked my husband, he's great at filling federal applications out." Great, I wish she had told me told me that BEFORE.

Sorry this is so long -- can you tell it has been on my mind! Thanks for asking!
