You'll agree with me after reading this article about a trial for a family dog attack.

The parents should totally lose their other child and be locked up. If a dog bit my child once it would be gone. I would find a nice home for the dog but it would be gone. I know people who have pitbulls and have never bit anyone so I do think it is possible to have this breed and be ok but if the dog had shown aggresion to the kids before and even bit one it should have been removed.

Sounds fishy to me. Why would a mother lock her kid in the basement with the dogs in the 1st place? Also sounds like the dad knew the dogs were dangerous & is now trying to save his wifes behind.

Exactly. Can you imagine the terror and the pain that poor child went through? Both parents need to be held accountable. What person in their right mind leaves their child alone with two pitbulls? My heart just breaks for that poor little boy. Perhaps his parents would like to be locked in a basement with two pitbulls for a day.

Unfortunately the owner is burdened with the responsibilty but I'm sure the loss is worse than a punishment will ever be. I love this breed but will not own one until my child is grown b/c of dominance issues. My Dad used to say animals are wild no matter how tame they are and you can't afford to forget that.

This story is so sad but it needs to be known to make a point about responsibility and supervision of children.

This was my first thought....there is more to this story....
And I'm sorry...disagree if you want...but if I were the Judge in the case, *Iwould not have excused her from hearing the rest of the testimony..She NEEDS to hear what her child went through...SHE was the cause and SHE should have to hear every agonizing detail of what that poor child went through. *

neutered and his brain preseved for science.

Pit Bulls are not family pets in my opinion in the first place and what concerns me more is that child confined to the basement I just dont get it.

I have other ideas and netutering doesnt even come close
