Which states will be early risers? - The Elkhart Project- msnbc.com

For those of you needing a job, you might want to look at the map and see which state will be recovering first. It looks like Texas and the Dakotas are the states to be.

If it makes you feel any better, they were probably talking about southern Idaho in that article. North Idaho has always been in the mists of a depression.

Amazingly, Alabama is in the 2nd group out of 4 groups. We're supposely going to start recovering in the early part of 2010. What's helped Alabama is that the housing issue didn't get as bad here as in other states.

You know i was not surprised to see Oregon on there in the earlier stages. don't get me wrong there are alot of issues in Oregon, but I manage a coffee stand here and have yet to see any real downfall from a recession. I consider myself very fortunate, my dh works for Nike and they laid of 500 people just in our area.
