I did not hear about this from the news, but from another parent. If anyone has heard about this please post the link.

A fifth grader on a school bus apparently tried to rape a kindergartner.

I was disgusted and shocked to hear of this!

That makes me think twice about letting dd ride the bus.

That just makes me so sick to my stomach! I always ask ds so many questions about his day and on the bus...he is a kindergartner. He goes full day and rides the bus which is so hard for me, but I have to let him grow up. If this happened closer to us or in our district I don't think that I would let him ride the bus.

I think that the other kids who encouraged the behavior should also be in trouble!!! Just pure disgust. So frightening...

I did hear about this on the news. But they didn't have alot of details because the kid was so young. All I could think was, my son is 5 and this is his first year riding the bus. I can't begin to explain how horrified I am. And this happened right in my general area, scares the crap outta me.

OMG this is horrible, I have a kindergartner who does not ride the bus to school , but does ride it home because his sister is in fourth grade and rides home with him....this is so scary to me. I am scared for my kids to grow up.

What was it last year or the year before about that TN girl raped on the bus? Anyway, after that I decided I would never let my kids ride the bus. I remember my bus days were kind of crazy and that was over 15 years ago. It just gets worse each year.

Missy ~ I totally understand! We are also in CT. We live in Cromwell. Like I said if this happened in our town ds would be done with the bus.

I would love to take him to school if he wanted, but he loves riding the bus. In fact, he has made a best friend just from riding the bus. I cannot take that away from him. No matter what we do our kids are going to grow up. We just have to teach them right and wrong and hope that no matter what they come to us if they have a problem!

We are in Griswold. And yes if something like that happened here, I'd pull my kids off the bus so fast..... Both my girls ride the bus with him though, they are in 3rd and 4th grade. I like to think that they are 'looking out for him' since he is only in Kindergarten.
