Bug spray eyed in baby’s death - Life- msnbc.com

The mom should have known better than to use a fogger while they were in the house.

According to the article, she was following the directions, but was setting off several foggers a week in a trailer - those things aren't supposed to be used more than once a month. If there was insecticide residue all over the furniture, the kids would have been constantly in contact with it. It sounds like their sickness may have been the result of prolonged exposure rather than acute inhalation.

I once lived in an 'infested' house in the south when I was a single mom and went through a LOT of bug spray items. It's horrible to try to live with kids and bugs I feel so sorry for her. I'm sure it was simply her trying to do right and not understanding the consequences of 'overdose'.

OMG! You are never supposed to use that much insecticide! If you can't make a dent in the problem on your own, call a professsional! They even make non-toxic roach motels(they've been around forever) and long acting baits that do have poison but you can use out of reach of children and pets. I hope people see this and learn from it. I don't know how someone could stay in a house that long, the police said the smell was overwhelming.
