I never realized that it would be quite that easy to steal luggage at the airport.

Oh I know! It's scary!

My dad's suitcase was lost/stolen 9 years ago. We were flying out of the Vegas airport. He lost all of his film (yes, before digital cameras) from my brother's wedding! It was awful!

I NEVER pack anything that can't be replaced. Whether it's lost or stolen, doesn't matter. I don't even pack things like my daughter's blankies in our suitcases...can you imagine losing those! We would be in big trouble! Also, since I have a little one, we always take an extra change of clothing, diapers, etc...in case we get stuck somewhere. We also make sure we have toiletries and underclothing for ourselves too.

Honestly, between this story and the crazy prices being charged to check bags (like $25!!), I am thinking one is better off shipping bags to a destination in advance. Or even packing as much as possible into a carry on and then just going to a laundromat when you need fresh clothes!
