FYI Ladies:

My husband found this article last night and left it up for me to read since we have a sick infant at home. We have been giving her amoxicillin for the infection, and motrin for the pain (ear infection). Kind of scary!!

I saw a little piece of this on the news and thought to myself that it says on the box not give it to a child under 2 or consult your physician. (some I think even say 6 years old)

I used to call my dr.s office and ask them and they would tell me how much to give for the child weight and age.

This is the first time I have posted on this particular board, but I was lurking and saw this thread. Do you know my SIL told me when we were vacation this year that she gives her 2 girls cough or cold medicine whenever she wants them to take a conveinent nap or to sleep on vacation in a different place. I being an RN told her indirectly that she was crazy! She was like, well a little cough medicine won't hurt. I should send her this article!

I would never give a child under a year old anything with the doctor telling me to.
Yes the danger is their and what this article doesnt say is the the problem is not so much the medicine its the parents giving it to them!
