What a very very sad story. I wish he had gotten some help before all of this. I'm probably going to be flamed for this. But he did sound very sincere in what he had to say. He's not taking the easy way out and claiming insanity. He did plead guilty, and will spend the rest of his life in prison (which I'm sure is not picnic). He's not really making excuses for his behavior, he's taking the punishment that went with the crime, according to the law. I really hope that he is truly sorry, and that he does spend the rest of his life behind those bars.

I have to agree.. what a sick person and I don't think I could forgive him..

This story is awful... The local news did a interveiw with him and it made my shkin crawl to think he would go into such detail . I hate to turn on the news around here anymore , cause I always hear how someone killed another child. This guy is sick , and i hope he gets the chair . I belive that some ppl are insane r depressed but i also think this is used lightly these days , To many ppl get away with murder by playing the crazy card

I am inclined to agree with you. He did *Sound* sincere but well, so did Scott Peterson when laci peterson went missing. I can appreciate that he turned himself in and didn't put his family through anymore troubles than need be. You have to wonder if perhaps it was a song and dance to make him look better *shrug* who knows.

It's sad, when you see these stories displayed all over the news - it makes you realize that it's not just "crazy" people that do this. It's everyday dad's that have surviving family members and who never saw it coming. I think it's more scary to know that SOME of these people came from families who could "never imagine this could happen" rather than just a random tragedy. Then again, some people never see the warning signs.

I do believe that severe depression can cause people to want to harm others. But if he knew he had those thoughts, he should have, for the sake of his family, put himself away. There are treatment centers that could have helped him. I feel bad. He obviously is very regretfull and pained by what he did, so he couldn't have been in his right mind. But to know you have those thoughts and not do anything about it is inexcusable.
Yes. When you are mentally ill AND aware of it you need to be responsible for you condition.

It makes me sad to hear/read about things like this. What gets me is that they kill/hurt others though never themselves

I missed the part where he was aware of his illness... in that case shame on him! He should've told someone about the things he was thinking. I still think he sounds sincere in being sorry, now that he is on medication for his sickness. But I am in no way excusing him of this sick act.
