I used to work at a Theme Park and I feel like injuries on rides happen in multiples. I think it might quiet down for a while, since I have heard of three recently.
I feel like I should still ride rides, since what is the chance of getting hurt on one if you follow the instructions and warnings. Some of the time people get hurt/die because they try to GET OUT OF the retraints. You just have to be smart about it and theme parks make their rides as safe as possbile and do maintenance checks. I'm sure you still have a less likely chance of dieing at a theme park than in a car

I typically use common sense when deciding what ride for me or my son goes on.

I hate those traveling "pick a spot and set up" carnivals. I never trust those rides. They are constanly put up, taken down...over and over again.
