Have room service, get takeout, order a pizza, have a bowl of cereal or eat at an earlier time and take your kids with you.
There have been many times on vacations where I would have loved a little quiet time with DH but you know what? We have a daughter. We are a family. If romantic dinners alone have to be put on hold for a couple of years, so be it. I can no sooner see us leaving Riley unattended so we could eat as I could see strapping her to the hood of the car to make run from DH's golf clubs in the back of the car. So yes, while I am sad for the parents, with a little common sense they could still have their daughter.

ITA! Yes it's tragic they have lost their little girl and I hope they find her. I cannot imagine living through a hell worse than losing your child, but you don't leave a 4 year old and 2 year old alone, ever. They obviously weren't checking on them enough. If I did this I would be charged with neglect but they are off meeting the pope. Common sense is lacking in so many people that call themselves parents. I wouldn't leave my 6 year old alone in a hotel room let alone a 4 year old. Room service people-what a great concept.
