Personally I think he should be aloud to do what he does......if you have the right to terminate a pregnancy, under extreme circumstances you should be aloud to take your own life......what does anyone get from suffering.......millions of people would love to adopt but we ok abortion but this is illegal ????????

I can't believe it's been 8 years already - I remember when he was sent to jail.

I had forgot all about him. I honestly thought he died.

I don't believe he should have gone to jail either. If your dog is suffering or in pain most people euthanize it but people have to suffer because they can't choose when they want to die painlessly. I don't get it. People treat their cat or dog better than the elderly or people dying a painful death.

I watched a lady die from ALS, and I told dh I won't die like that. I will take my own life first, and I believe I have the right to make that decisiion.

Same here.
While I don't totally agree with what he was doing, I'm not totally against it either. I have mixed feelings on the issue.

Well said.

This is a great quote from the article.

"This should be a matter that is handled as a fundamental human right that is between the patient, the doctor, his family and his God," Holmes said of Kevorkian's beliefs.

I'm glad he lived long enough to get out. He's a local guy here, so he's been in the news a lot over the years. He never should have been put away. Our jails are all overcrowded & they are letting all sorts of people out while he sits there for no good reason. There is no reason why some reasonable laws on this issue cannot be made. Isn't it legal in Oregon or Washington state? One of those two?

I heard on the news tonight that the only state that currently has a law is Oregon. California is supposed to vote on it pretty soon.

I'm so glad that he is out. It really made me angry when he went to jail in the first place, but that he had to stay there for 8 years is beyond reasonable. I hope he is able to live a peaceful life for the rest of his years. Bless him for taking that leap and going out for those he helped put an end to their incredible suffering.
