Child Brings Heroin to Daycare

A YWCA daycare on Grant Street in Buffalo says 6 children, ranging in age from 2 to 5-years-old, were taken to Children's Hospital after ingesting the illegal drug.

On Tuesday a child at the YWCA Schoolhouse Commons brought heroin to the daycare and distributed it to the other children telling them it was candy, according to YWCA officials.

2 Teachers in the classroom at the time immediately called police when they discovered what had happened. The children were taken to Women and Childrens hospital in Buffalo to be evaluated.

The daycare has been closed by the New York State's Office of Child and Family Services.

So far no charges have been filed.

The parents of the child say the drugs did not come from their home, and say the child told police the heroin was found outside the daycare.

Oh my!!! You never know what will happen!!! This is terrible. I hope the children will be okay.

Holy cow!!!! I hope all the kids are doing okay!!! How scary that they are in such great dangers from drugs at those young ages.

Kids these days! God they are confronted with so much more adult stuff than the earlier generations. Its so sad.
