So, true. I'm sure he feels absolutely horrible.

How awful for this family!! I can see where this might happen more than we know though, as most people live very busy lives these days.

Not only will the father have to live with his mistake, but think about what this will do to the parents' relationship. It will probably never be the same, if survive at all. I feel bad for the family as a whole.

ray: being lifted for them all!!

I find it usually happens when a routine is broken. If dad wasn't used to taking the baby on errands and he normally would just jump out of the car and go inside without checking the back seat then that's what he did this time. Maybe mom wasn't home and everyone thought the baby was with mom??
It's a very sad thing and i feel bad for the dad. I couldn't imagine living with this.

Now the people who go to a casino or to get their hair done and purposely leave a child in a car.....they are idiots.

This family is a friend of a friend. My girlfriend was just telling me yesterday about what happened and that the baby was in the hospital and they didn't know if she would survive and that if she did she would probably have brain damage. It was purely an accident and not intentional.

This is a tough situation, these parents, especially the father has to live with this forever. Things like this often break up a marriage because of blame. Despite that, I would expect charges to be brought against one or both parents for neglect. What a terrible thing that little girl had to suffer through and the pain her family must be feeling.

My heart goes out to them,
Christine

I saw this headline and thought, "Here is starts again". There are so many deaths like this every year, and I'm sure that most are completely accidental, but it breaks my heart thinking of what the child had to go through before they died. Just awful.

Jodie, you are completely right. It's the ones that purposely leave their kids in the car that are the idiots. This poor guy made a horrible mistake and he'll never live it down.
