Wow, I'm pretty impressed. An honest to God, knock down drag out debate! Whoo hoo! I'm in (please note humor in tone of this statement).
As most of you know, I am a libertarian with conservative leanings. Having said that, I have a few points to make on this thread:
Hillary:
1. I don't like her and don't trust her. She believes that the government is a better steward of my money and my life than I am. This is an ideological difference, and one on which neither she nor I will be swayed. I cannot vote for a woman with whom I have such a difference.
2. She does not believe in a strong defense. She believes that we should simply get out of the middle east and let civil war ensue (similar to what is going on in Darfur). Also, she would rather appease terrorists than hunt them down like the dogs that they are.
3. She will take whatever position is politically advantgeous for her at the moment. She has no moral backbone, IMHO.
A woman as president:
I think a woman President would be a good idea, if it were the right woman. As for Skeems comments regarding that a woman shouldn't be President because God made us different, I respect her beliefs. I also heartily disagree that because we are different, we are not made to be president. Women are child-bearers... we are responsible for the continuation of our species. If we can handle that responsibility, as given by God, we can surely handle the responsibility of the presidency.
George Bush Failings:
Well, before posting to this I read through that post, and will post there as well in a moment. I personally don't see any problem with making up a list of what you don't like in a current president or in a potential president. If I write things that I don't like about the current president, then I am bashing him. However, aren't I also bashing the Honorable Senator from NY with my above statements? I am an equal opportunity basher.
