I ask this question sincerely, not to spark anger, debate or aggression amongst us, but to really find out specifically the reasons why some feel Hillary isn't presidential material?

i, personally, don't believe a woman should be running the country. this is not a sexist remark. i just don't think we are "built" to handle that kind of responsibility. plus, i don't want bill anywhere near the white house again.

Personally, I like her and I think she could probably do a remarkable job. But... I don't think she is a viable canidate because too many people have too many strong feeling for her one way or another. Also too many people have strong feeling about her husband (who was an outstanding president!!)

Many reasons. She's wishy-washy and simply rides the bandwagon of other people's views, turning on a dime - no true, original convictions (not that stick, anyway - double entendre). She is not a leader, but a follower. She turns her opinions based on public opinion, not on learning new facts.

She has a spotty past and seems to lack good judgement. She and Bill have been linked to too many crimes, and as much as I said she's not a leader, Bill followed her lead in that area.

There is no doubt she is book smart - but people smart, issues smart, politically smart, she's not.

She is WAY too self-important - dangerous in a President. "We are the Presidents". No - you were a First Lady. Big difference.

She lies, and has been caught in too many of them. It may have worked before television and tape recorders, or in times where politicians were protected, but it doesn't work now. She would be better off to keep her mouth shut than lie.

She reminds me of Jesse Jackson: if the media is there, so is he. If there are no cameras, she has no interest in the issue. Everything is done to highlight HER.

Yes, you can say that many politicians have these flaws (there are many more, but these are just a few), but how many of them have the flaws in one package? The worst part is they are things within her control. She's just a bad penny - keeps turning up.

I was watching her the other day, as I really like to get both sides, and if I don't like someone, I do try to have myself talked out of it. But her rhetoric was laughable, she kept repeating herself with half-truths, and she was downright annoying. I had to turn it off.

I can't get past her remark about being a SAHM and baking the damn cookies and that was years ago! NOW she wants my vote and is trying to get cozy with moms? Give me a break, you fake.

I agree with you on all points except one. I don't think she is as much of a media whore as Jesse Jackson. He and Al Sharpton are, by far, the worst.

I would also like to add to your list.

-Her "It takes a village" mentality when it comes to our kids education and No Child Left Behind. I think this completely disregards parental responsibility in the education process. Her thinking just makes it easier for slacker parents to justify pawning their kids ENTIRE education off on the public schools...morals, values, good behavior, personal responsibility, etc. Parents have an obligation to their children to teach them these things. It is NOT our governments responsibility.

It also caters to the weakest students in the class bringing other students down to that learning level. I believe it would be more effective to cater to the higher achievers to encourage the lower achievers to rise up to that level. These kids need to know that they can and should do better, not that people will always accomodate them and they can always get by with the bare minimum.

-The whole business with Bill and Monica was just disgusting to me. To me, it says quite a bit about Hillary's character that she let herself be humiliated in front of the entire world by this man having a mid life crisis...and then stayed with him. IMO, this doesn't show strength as a woman, but rather weakness.

-I find that her wishy-washiness (is that a word? ) makes it hard to take her seriously. She claims to want to pay down debt and balance the budget, but doesn't want to cut any spending.

I'll start by saying that this is going to be a bad thread. There is NO WAY it can't be.

Hilary Clinton is the Senetor of my state and is doing an awesome job. She stands up and fights for many issues that I believe are important.

I also liked Bill Clinton as President. There were issues that he signed that I did not like, but mostly I was very pleased with him. I did think the world was a better place when he was in office and I would love to see us back where we were then. If we could only turn back time.

I don't know who I am going to vote for in the upcoming election. I will say that I have not ruled Hillary out as my candidate.

OMG!!! Are you kidding me. In this day and age there are people who don't think that we are every bit as capable as men?????

Honestly I think it is nice that she is "wishy- washey"- it shows that she is an empathetic person! With so many issues that the world has- it is hard to make it black or white- there has to be gray areas! Personally- I liked it when she was First Lady- she stepped up to the plate like I would being the First Lady trying to make the country a better place. As for the Clinton's having a shady past- the Bush's have a shady past as well.

As for why I don't think that she is presidential material- it's not that I don't think she is, i don't think the country is ready for her(well the majority of the country!)! I would not be surprised however if a Republican will be elected President for the next term then a Democrat will be in right after that (you know using the scare tatic of how we have to defeat this was on terror and such- the typical way they get into office!)!
