We are ok over here too, My mom was on the bridge when it collapsed but she is fine, a few cuts and bruises. She is thankful she is alive but petrified to drive at the moment. we are praying for the families of the victims and missing. this is such a tradegy

Wow your mom was on it!! I dont blame her for being petrified to drive!!mine was on it a couple hours before and that was freaky enough!!! Prayers for her healing mentally and physically!!

I'm so glad your mom is o.k. Our prayers go out to those who lost love ones and those that are waiting to hear about the ones who are missing.

I was just thinking if anyone has heard from her? I dont see any additional posts on here from her.

I live in Minnesota as well, just south of the river.
I am sure everyone on here that lives in MN knows it could have been anyone of us on that bridge. We have all been acrossed it several times. I am praying for all the critically injured and the missing along with their families. They are saying there are still 20 missing at this point and several in critical condition which means life threatning injuries. It is really hard to wrap your head around something like this. It really reminds me of the earthquake out in Cali in 1989(I think that was the year) where the double decker bridge collapsed. Ironically there was not as much traffic that could have been on that bridge because the World Series was going on. The 35W bridge had a ton of traffic on it because everyone was headed to the Twins baseball game which is about a mile up the road, and it was the tail end of rush hour.

We are now in the cities- the girls and I are waiting at my brothers house while DH and my brother is searching hospitals. No one has heard from My Brother-in law or his family. At this point we are just PRAYING that they are hurt somewhere in a hospital. Their home phone just keeps ringing- it did all night long. Their cell phone goes right to voicemail and we are terrified that we are about to hear the worst

I hate people right now who are posting all of these videos of the bridge going down. How do they think it makes people feel who are looking for or have lost or seriously injured loved ones- The news people don't care about the victims and their families, they just care about getting the "Breaking News." Sure, it's breaking news, but why victimize the people who have already gone through this even more? I felt the same way about 9/11!
