There definately should be a better way of communicating with the families.

I would think that could be something Red Cross does. They could coordinate with all local hospitals the lists of injured and unidentified and deal directly with the families. They train all of the time for disasters I would think this could be a separate team that handles communications with the family.

Do they do this at all?

DH called again. He saw pictures of 4 of the 5 "unknown" people that they have at HCMC. None matched anything close to his Brother, SIL or baby. I wonder if they would have taken the baby to the Children's hospital? He has been asking about it, but no one seems to know

I did hear on tv last night that they were taking children to the Children's hospital. It is worth a try.

What a horrible ordeal for your DH. I can't imagine having to go looking for my sibling in a hospital under circumstances such as this. My prayers have been, and will continue to be with your family. My heart truely goes out to every one of you.

And my prayers are with all other familes involved.

Me&My2girls...As others have said, PLEASE let us know if there is ANYTHING we are able to to do for you! And please know that so many of your friends here on MS are praying for you. May God comfort you in this difficult time...

I am sure that you have heard this already...but in a news conference last night one of the doctors from one hospital (Sorry do not remember which one) said that they had transferred some children to the children's hospital...and also that there were people transferred to hospitals in St. Paul.
I know this is a very difficult time for you and your family..even though I cannot begin to imagine what you are going through. I will continue to pray for your family.ray:

I will keep you family in my thoughts and prayers. I can't imagine the grief your family is going through right now.

I do have a suggestion. If you have photos of your family members, scan them and email them to the public relations/community relations departments of the hospitals in the area. Give their names as well as contact numbers for them to reach you at. Email this info to the Red Cross and any emergency responders you can think of - police, fire department, etc. Any email address you can find. Email it to the news media in the area, as well. I would still be calling and trying in person still but this is one more avenue to try.

I pray everything has a positive outcome for you and your family.
