What would possess this woman to lie about all of this? How disrespectful to the actual survivors and to those who lost loved ones.

Wow, that's pretty sick of her to do that.

I figured she was just a sad, lonely woman with some issues... Why else would she do it, it doesn't appear she made any money from it. It's wrong but I kind of feel sorry for her.

How awful--that sounds like something DH's ex wife would do! Shes always making up big stuff like that to get sympathy--kinda made me feel really sorry for her at first , because I wondered how bad someone must hurt inside to need that type of attention, until he attention getting came down on our family and her lies hurt us.

She may not have earned any money as a tour guide at ground zero or as the survivor's group president but what it failed to mention is if she received money from the foundation that was set up to pay injured survivors, victims or the families of the victims. These people received millions, so it is likely that she may have received some sort of compensation. Of course that might be why this is all coming to light. If they are investigating survivors to verify they were actually there, then that could be why her lies are coming out. It also seems to me that maybe she has some sort of Munchausen's Syndrome (sp?). She wants the attention given to the survivors.
