I just saw this on ABC Good Morning America!

Couples desperate to have a baby that cannot afford an American surrogate mother are now "outsourcing" for surrogates in India for a fraction of the cost!

www.vacationIVF.com (or something like that ~ I will verify it)

What are your thoughts?

It's not what I would want to do but I know how hard it is for some couples to have babies and I know sometimes they're willing to do just about anything. I would be concerned about the pregnancy though - I was very careful about what I did and what I didn't do with my pregnancies would this woman do the same? And with her in India would I even know what she was doing or not doing?

I have to say Im not suprised. People adopt babies from all over the world too. Id imagine the couples must be very desperate to hire an international surrogate. Its very sad. Id be very nervous that the woman was so far away, we wouldnt be able to enjoy the pregnancy or be involved much.

I read about this in Marie Claire the other month I think it was. I wasn't sure at first, but it seemed to be a win win situation for everyone... women got their babies, and the people carrying them got a chance at a better life, be it providing for thei existing childrenwith food, clothes and edcation, or for their families, by buying a house, or even just for themselves, to help them have a better life.

I am glad that they can help each other out. I think it sounds like it will be good for all parties involved.
