Okay sorry, maybe I'm jaded and cold-hearted on this one, but I'm SO tired of people using "someone hurt me when I was little" as an excuse for the messed up decisions they make in their lives 30 years later.

As far as I am concerned anyone who commits a crime such as murder and harming a child is insane and should not be given a get out of jail free card. I, too, am tired of this type of excuse.

I agree. Many of us were abused when we were little and chose to treat others better than we were treated. It's no excuse. If you are that sick, you should be locked away from society, getting proper treatment.

I lived in a domestic violence home and do struggle with issues, but no I don't plan on attacking anyone and using it as an excuse. That is just awful I don't think it is an excuse to put that poor pregnant lady through that and her child. I can't imagine giving a c-section let alone on someone without meds. How could you do that to an innocent person? This happens all the time, I heard of one story on Oprah where the pregnant woman won and the crazy lady died. The pregnant woman fought for her and her daughter's life, luckily she won before she was cut. Like, I said I could never hurt someone like that. I don't understand how some live through abuse and prevail and help others in life and others continue to abuse. I feel terrible for that child and the victim's family.
I guess I would feel bad for the attacker's family as well it would sicken me if one of my family members did such a thing.

Not much we can do about it, but I think if the media would let these stories die, it would help not give other crazies the idea. Of course, your movies are another source.

Any kind of mental illness aside, I agree stop blaiming your actions as an adult on something that happened to you as a child. Grow up and learn personal accountability and responsibility. It made me sick when Susan Smith's defense was her family member abused her----like that someone influenced your decision to drive your 2 boys into a lake. Cop out in my opinion.
