Please pray for all of us who are affected by these fires.

Yesterday a fire broke out near our home in Poway (the Ramona fire and Witch Creek Fires in San Diego county). We decided to pack up the kids last night and drive an hour and a half north to my parents house in Pomona because the air quality even in our home was so bad I was getting nauseated. Thank God we left because we got a call from one of our friends early this morning saying that all of Poway is under evacuation and all of the major freeways heading east and north are closed because the fire has skipped over freeways. So now all the residents can do is travel southwest towards the beach. However there is another huge fire in southeast San Diego County near the Tecate border crossing so even more folks are being evacuated from there.

Last we heard our home was okay...our house is about 6 miles from where the fire reached in Poway.

Please pray for our friends and church members and all the rest who are affected by the fires all across S. Cal (Malibu, Ontario, Irvine, Lake Arrowhead, Canyon Creek, etc.)

Sorry to hear about the horrible fires. I was teary eyed this morning when a family on the Today show was talking about how they had to drive through fire and smoke to get away. Their cars caught on fire but they were all fine. The Mom was so distraught that when she got out of the car she even made sure to lock her car doors out of habit even though the car was in flames. I lost it when she said, "I just had to get my child out of there!"

Sure Sandra. Prayers already sent and will continue! Please add a small prayer for the South East too- we have only 100 more days water and no back up plan after that as of now. It is getting really baaadddddd.

I just called my brother - I never really put two and two together until I was listening to the radio.

I find out he's already been evacuated. He's in a hotel north a ways with some friends who also lived in the area.

I'm glad he's safe, but man, it scared me for a minute. I called my folks to tell them that he's already out and safe. I hope everyone else gets out ok.
