I have to say, how absolutely wrong and horrible it is all around - I cannot fathom anyone would do something like this in their right mind. My guess is that she was in complete and utter denial - and then snapped. No it is no excuse, but I bet it happens all the time.

I dated a man that got his girlfriend pregnant, and it wasn't until WAY after the baby was born that he even acknowledged that she was pregnant! And he lived with her and she did show! He just said he was in complete and utter denial that he actually convinced himself - even after seeing her be 9 mos. pregnant that she wasn't! He was a very intelligent individual too, he was not uneducated. So I can see how this kind of thing - awful, wrong, and horrible as it is - can happen.

I don't think the college student has any excuse for what she did; she's definitely old enough to know better.

I grad from Mercyhurst college in Erie, PA. This year a volleyball student came back to school had a practice went to the nurse on campus and then came home delivered the baby the roomate and the coach new about the death of the baby but never said anything to anyone. I am sorry but there is no reason why a college student should do this, I don't care. It was not all all girls catholic school but it is a catholic school, I am not catholic but went to the college. At that age you know, there are so many safe drop off in Erie that she could of had someone drop off the baby for her. No reason to kill the baby and now, they are going after the babies dad,
