I know my dd talks about hugging her friends all of the time...all of the girls do it. Just shaking my head!! I agree, you would think there is more to this than a hug, but it appears NOT. What a shame!

I would be so upset if my childrens school did this. I am always seeing the junior high girls do that. I mean, I understand they are trying to keep couples from being intimate. But it would be so hard for a friend to remember to restrain herself. Especially if they are excited about something.

I don't think that it is because we have become so politically correct, I think it's because we, as a nation (not as individuals) have become a nation of sheep. We, as individuals, are afraid to stand up to the government (local, state, and federal) and say "well, that's a stupid idea" or "are you people on crack?!" We need to take back our personal responsibility for being smart, critical, independent thinkers. We are losing a generation of kids who are being taught that they have to subjugate their own individualism for the collectivism of the group.

This is yet one more example of that subjugation.
