No, not unless they consistently helped her and shared their large tips with her. He tipped HER for a reason. I gotta admit, though, when I first read about it a few days ago, I thought it was a little creepy. I bartended when I was 18, and usually big tippers wanted more than the service I was willing to give behind the bar. I wouldn't blow it on Vegas, though! Geesh!

It depends if she and the other bartenders work on shared tips or not, if so then it's only right that it be put in for tip share. Most bartenders I know that work with other bartenders split the tips since often they assist each other. Now that's totally different if she was behind the bar alone but still why is this guy tipping her such an extravangant amount of money? I'd bet that the guy has a motive......

Wow- that seems a little wierd to me, like maybe there is more to it thatn that. I hope she doesn't go spend it all right away! In my years of bartending, there were numerous occasions where someone left a large tip and then disputed it later. We always ended up having to pay it back.

As for sharing the money, if she shares the bar with other bartenders and they split tips normally, than she should certainly share it. Why would this time be any different? If she worked it alone than its up to her what to do with the money.

KS Mom, I guess we are neighbors. I live in Augusta. No, I don't think she should have to share unless it is Applebee's policy that everybody tip share.

I dont think she needs to share it. But I think it is a bit creepy, why would he give her so much money? does he expect somehting in return now?
and to blow it in vegas is a bit dumb! invest it comes to mind here.
