I just heard about this story on the radio, this is NUTS. Hold your children close.

(Columbia, S.C.-AP, Sept. 8, 2006 Updated 1:55 PM) _ Police in South Carolina say a convicted sex offender from New York has died and a 14-year-old Connecticut boy is hospitalized after the man's car crashed during a high-speed chase.

State police say 27-year-old Adam Mauro of Pelham, New York, was killed when his car crossed a median and hit an 18-wheeler yesterday on Interstate 95.

Mauro was wearing a seat belt, but his 14-year-old passenger from Stamford was not, and was thrown from the vehicle.

The boy, reported missing by his parents earlier this week, was hospitalized in stable condition.

Mauro was facing multiple charges alleging criminal offenses with children, and had one related conviction.

He was first arrested in August 2000, after investigators found child ****ography on his home computer. He pleaded guilty to a reduced charge in 2001 and was sentenced to three years' probation.

Definately hold your children close, I won't even let my son alone in the fenced backyard, I know its paranoid, but you just never know.
