EU parliament president says Olympic boycott should not be ruled out - Olympics - Yahoo! Sports

What do you think? Would it make a difference if everybody boycotted the olympics? I know china is trying to make an impression in front of the world at these games, but would they really go so far as letting a boycott change their actions toward tibet?

It's funny you just mentioned this -- I was just reading on the front of Yahoo about China and their version of the Tibetian protests. No, I don't think China will ever willingly give up Tibet. Though I don't claim to have a lot of knowledge on the subject. So hopefully I am wrong.

"Seen from the changes in the world situation and the United States' hegemonic strategy for creating monopolarity, war is inevitable...We cannot avoid it. The issue is that the Chinese armed forces must control the initiative in this war....We must be prepared to fight for one year, two years, three years or even longer." Chi Haotian, Chinese Defense Minister, Cheng Ming, Hong Kong's newspaper, January 11, 2000
