Another politician caught cheating and lying about it under oath. He approved a $8.4 million settlement to two police officers who said they were fired for investigating him using his security detail to cover up his affair. What I think is more stunning is that he signed off on a $8.4 million settlement with the cops because he knew they had this evidence. That's what Detroit needs. They're one of the cities with the worst economies and he's paying that kind of money to keep his affair a secret. Geez...

I AM SO FREAKING HAPPY THEY ARE CHARGING HIM!!!!! WOOOOOO!!!!!!! Everyone here is just so happy. We thought for sure they would come back w/ "not enough evidence to charge" as this mayor has everyone in his pocket. He's a gangster and he's proud of it - he does not see that he's done anything wrong and blames it all on racism. A young mother was killed and the investigation covered up, he used city funds to pay off the cops who were investigating him around it, and paid hush money in a secret deal. I hope they nail his @$$ to the wall.

You know what really gets me besides the cheating, is the lying to cover it up. I mean come on they used state time, state funds and then they lie by stating that it never happen, and then claim that they were "picked on and the charges were trumped up".

Come on and least admit that you made a mistake and move on!

You know I had never heard of the man till this came out, but when I first saw him, he looked like a gangster or a well dress pimp!

Maybe it will be good for the city of Detroit then. I didn't know there were other problems with him too. Did people not know these things about him before he got elected or it's all been since then?

His first term he was seen as this guy who would deliver Detroit from the mess it's been in since, well, as long as I remember. His first term - he did nothing. Another guy was running against him and Kwame was losing ground. Just days before the election, the other guy was leading something like 65/35, and then Rosa Parks had to up and die. Kwame delivered this speech at her funeral all full of uplifting bull and the people ate it up and he won the election. If only Rosa could have held on a few more days. Scandals have been following this man for years. This one reporter in particular has been on him, over and over and over, and we've all seen the video here of Kwame's security "guards" pushing the reporter into walls, etc. Each action causes yet another investigation and Kwame's folks just put up a wall. FINALLY the text messages because public and from there things have just been crumbling. And that has led to all the other investigations being opened up again, and now people are starting to talk, altho most are afraid for their lives, getting death threats, etc.

Yes, he does look like a gangster-pimp, the way he dresses. I don't care about the affair - I figure most men in power do that and their wives must know. It's the cover up, the public funds being used to pay off police, officers being fired for investigating the mayor's wrongdoings. And I still want to know who killed the young stripper who performed at the party at the mayor's mansion.

Yep. Apparently, the giant party with the stripper at the mayors mansion (an investigation that was covered up, the cops who were investigating it were suddenly fired from their jobs, etc.) - well, it seems the mayor's wife didn't like how the stripper was dancing up near the mayor and whacked the stripper w/ a baseball bat. There are medical records on that. Within days, the stripper (a single mom) was found dead. Investigation into her death resulted in, I believe, more detroit police suddenly fired/paid off, if I recall correctly. Strippers' family wants answer. Some little old lady clerk in Detroit says she remembers seeing paperwork on the stripper but assumed it was being taken care of by police. No paperwork can be found now (coverup). The little old lady clerk, who is in her 70's or 80's and has nothing to gain by coming forward is getting death threats.
The more this is investigated, the more there is to find.
