I agree. Though the sadness of this story really lies in the insurance system in this country.
How is there a law that allows Walmart to SUE FOR WHAT SHE"S ALREADY PAID THEM?!

Business is created to make money and provide a product or service. The fact that a business is successful doesn't mean it should give money away when people signed a contract ACKNOWLEDGING THE TERMS. If you are one of the poeple paying into that SAME health care, you'd be mad if your premiums were raised because the health plan thought it'd be nice to forgive debts because it makes people feel all warm and fuzzy.

Debbie Shank's son's dying while fighting for this country doesn't mean her former employer's health plan needs to stop practicing good business or make signed contracts null and void. Ms. Shank's husband divorcing her so she'd qualify for better health services was a choice HE MADE. That was about LOVE. That doesn't make her former employer evil. Ms. Shank's now ex-husband having prostate cancer doesn't imply that her former employer's health plan is a greedy corporate monster preying upon the disadvantaged.
