My gosh, what is this world coming to? To see children becoming numb to feelings, their conscious and authority proves the human condition is just getting worse. Scary really.

Children are rarely sheltered from violent movies and shows any more. When I taught in the inner city it was not uncommon for my kindergarteners to be discussing the latest horror flick We are not talking the ones of our childhood. I am talking about movies like SAW So of course at the imaginative age it just fuels their ideas.

I've been teaching for 17 years, and for the last 16, I haven't felt safe. There are some lunatics out there who think that the publicity that other young offenders have gotten is "cool", and yet others who have no conscience about hurting others.

I feel for that teacher because the trauma from this incident, whether it WOULD have been carried out or not, will haunt him/her for years to come. The fact that his/her life COULD have been in danger is enough to jar your soul.

The kids should have some consequences, no doubt, but so should their parents!!! People need to be ACCOUNTABLE for the actions of their minor children.
