I was watching my Sunday morning political talk shows and they were discussing the possibility of Condoleezza Rice as a vice-presidential candidate for McCain. Wondered what everyone thought about this. Here's her bio in case you don't know much about her. She's an incredibly brilliant accomplished woman, but some people may acquaint her too much with Bush.

Biography of Dr. Condoleezza Rice

I heard the same thing about Rice being too "close" to Bush and the McCain would be better off stearing clear of anyone tied to the Bush administration. I think she would make a good vice president or even president--maybe next go around.

For such a smart woman with such a resume, I've been very disappointed in her performance. I think McCain would do best to distance himself from anything having to do with Bush.

Actually, I've thought about this more, and I think it is a wonderful idea for McCain. Part of what is pushing Obama is the black vote. Part of what is pushing Clinton is the female vote. But with Condoleeza Rice you have both of those areas covered.

I agree with Calimari.

Melsb--I think you are on the right track. Its unfortunate that race and gender are going to end up being qualifications in this, but they are.

In my opinion it would bevery smart for Mccain to run with Rice.

I still don't understand how come so many people hate Bush.

Obama and Clinton already said they are going to raise taxes, capital gain taxes, etc.

If we are in a recession like everyone claims, why are they trying to take more money away from consumers?

She certainly has more foreign policy experience than the other candidates. I'm very impressed with her credentials.
