Doesn't bother me. It wasn't meant for US but for Mexico and this is how they feel.
I can picture they US one, the entire world be the US.

Didn't bother me

I am sure that 90% of the adds, can offend somebody or group, if they tried hard enough.

I think people should just realize that they are adds!

I found it somewhat offensive, only because of the whole illegal immigration thing. So many Mexicans do not respect the borders, and Mexican officials complain about the influx of Mexicans back into their own towns when they can't work illegally in the US anymore. I thought it played too much on that. I also think it was stupid. A lot of people found it very offensive and so they lost a bunch of customers that way.

I didn't have a problem with it since it was aimed at another country who's sensibilities, attitudes, perspective, history, etc. is different from ours. Look how often the borders have been redrawn in Europe in just the last 75 years. I'm not surprised if many mexicans, especially older mexicans, feel that land was stolen from them and that it's rightfully theirs.

I can't believe that an ad was taken down in another country because of some US citizen's opinion. What better way to make us think we own the world?!?!
For me, this is reminiscent of Sweden's (?) retractions of the cartoons that were offensive to the Middle Eastern muslims (?) b/c they threatened to attack them over it. (Can't remember all the details about that story, but I see a strong resemblence in the details.) Everything is offensive to someone. A vodka company in Sweden shouldn't feel the need to bend to the opinions of some Americans when they're doing their dealings with an entirely different country, when it's not hurting anybody in between. IMHO, of course.

What do I care? I live in Arizona, which was indeed part of Mexico at one time. We didn't become a state in the US until 1912.

And if memory serves me right, Mexicans/Spaniards did discover and settle California first, that is after the Native Americans did (about 200 years later, if I remember right).

And since when do we depend on advertising for historic accuracy anyway?
