What are your thoughts on this? Should we have raided and removed the children?

I totally disagree with the "lifestyle" but at first I was concerned because we are splitting up these families BUT all I've read in the last few days makes me sick.

Forcing your young teenage daughter to marry and have sex with 40/50 year old men is just WRONG!

I am sure some of the women that left will go back but if they can save some of them that is great.

I think it's good that they went in there. It is clear that many of those women and children are being kept there against their will - the way they raise the kids in the environment & close them off from all else and marry them so young & get them pregnant so young is just a way to keep them in a form of servitude/sexual slavery, in my opinion. From what I've read, over 100of the adult women who were removed are free to return at any time...and they are not. There is freedom of religion in this country, and I believe that means the freedom to practice or not, and to choose the faith that you best relate to. I think these women are pretty much being imprisoned into this religion and not being allowed to leave. And I do not believe that any religion has the right to break the law - laws surrounding legal age of marriage and age of consent, etc. If that was the case, anyone could do anything and just claim it's part of their religion.

I know a couple of polygamist families and I do not have a problem with their lifestyle -- they are adults! And I haven't seen that their children are being forced to go into their lifestyle. But forcing a 15 year old in a 50 year olds bed? I'm glad they raided the compound.

I don't really care if legal adults CHOOSE to go into plural marriages, but telling a 14 year old girl she is bride #7 to some 50 year old man, and then having to romp in the "wedding bed" right at the church - that is just pedophilia wrapped up in a pretty package if you ask me.
