I was reading this last night and can't find the article again. But Texas (and I assume this is a state bill not federal) is paying $25,000 - $35,000 A DAY to house all the children that they have taken into state custody!

How the heck is that state going to cover the cost?! I know that wasn't in their normal budget! It is just insane.

Polygamous sect encouraged fear - Yahoo! News

I found it. Evidently the Baptist Child and Management Services has been hired by the State of Texas to pay for this.

That whole situation is just sad all around! I mean those children have been taught to fear the outside world! I mean it's bad enough to be taken from the only home you have ever known. But then, on top of that, to BELIEVE that you are going to be harmed and ultimately go to hell for it! It's just so wrong! I really feel for those children!

Since I live in TX, I can say that this is nothing new. TX always throws away money on things. I used to live in San Angelo, and can remember whent they first started building that complex outside Christoval. Caused a lot of controversy then and apparently still does. It is really a huge eyesore.
