It's Derby Day at Churchill Downs, here in Lousiville, Kentucky! This is the biggest day of the year for this area! Celebrities from all over the country make a special trip for this day! Last year, the Queen of England was here! That's a big deal for Louisville! I've yet to find out who is here this year but will find out soon! My husband saw Larry Birkhead at the Disney store on Thursday (assuming he was shopping for his daughter, Dannielynn), but he's from Louisville.
I would go if it weren't so crowded (I don't do so well in crowds), and expensive!! The horses are beautiful! I wish Mint Juleps (the official derby drink) weren't alcoholic...I'd love to try one!

Another KY gal - hooray! Derby is definitely fun in KY - whether you like horse racing or not. I'm not one to bet, but every year, I choose a horse to cheer for. My criteria - simply the name I like best! This year my pick is Monba. We'll see how my horse competes soon.
