I think this story is so sad. It was the only filly running in the race, and she finished second, but broke both front legs, so they euthanized her on the track right after the race was over. Here's the story:

So sad. I've watched the Kentucky Derby every year since I was a child. I teared up.

That's sad. Although I'm not a fan of horse racing, I was hoping she would do well at the derby. I remember when Barbaro broke down at Preakness and wound up having to be euthanized 8 months later.

When they started talking that she was down and I saw she wasn't getting back up I took the girls into the other room. Last year my oldest started crying when Barbaro was injured. My mil stayed in the kitchen watching it. I teared up just hearing what was going on.

I didn't see it happen, but I have heard a lot about this horse and it's just really sad!

They blocked her with the trailers and such, the cameras were there, but they didn't really "show" anything. DH and DD were watching, I couldn't

I'm glad she placed 2nd, but so sad for her.....
