Our Dr. told us babies under 6 mos. should have NO water, as they should only be getting nutrition, so formula or breast milk. I live in the desert and questioned it, but he talked about how it can cause an imbalance in the electrolytes, and their little bodies just can't handle water yet on its own. My mom kept INSISTING I give the kids water. Thank God I knew enough not to listen to her. This is the woman who gave us sugar water to stop us from crying.
