I guess I fail to see how he'll make Congress pass such reform - after all, they are the one's that can create such laws and tax reform.

I guess I'm pretty disillusioned with knowing "they" (candidates) make all these promises and plans they really have very little ability to carry out....and the public still believes them.

I'm not comfortable with it. My dh and I fall into the older category and we'd probably end up paying more for private insurance just because of our ages.

This is why I don't get caught up in the nitty gritty of who promises what. Any candidate might have the best of intentions, but they are still stuck working w/ congress & can only do so much to get their ideas through.

I agree. Even though I usually vote one way, I have to totally agree. Both parties make promises and can not possibly make them all happen!

Personally, I think the system of employer supplied health insurance has been the biggest bane to our existance for a long time. It should all be private insurance and it should all be tax deductible. In our life, we have chosen not to be solely self-employed merely because we needed the benefits. A lot of people are in or situation. Employer supplied health insurance is holding back the economic growth of this country. It really needs to go.
