I didn't watch the video.

What is it with this theme on conservative talk radio lately? It is really turning me off and I find myself changing the channel - A LOT! Everyone seems to be complaining that McCain isn't getting enough news coverage and that the media is in love with Obama. It sounds like so much whining to me. It makes the McCain supporters sound like they know they are in a losing position - NOT attractive.

I'm neither a McCain nor an Oboma supporter. I recently read a book that McCain wrote in 1999. I found one quote interesting. It doesn't have anything to do with the topic at hand but I've been meaning to post it. Remember, McCain is writing this regarding the Vietnam war where he was a POW...

"No one who goes to war believes once he is there it is worth the terrible cost of war to fight it by half measures. War is too horrible a thing to drag out unncessessarily. It was a shameful waste to ask men to suffer and die, to persevere through awful afflictions and heartache, for a cause that half the country didn't belief in and our leaders weren't committed to winning. They committed us to it, bdaly misjudged the enemy's resolve, and left us to manage the thing on our own without authority to fight it to the extent necessary to finish it."

I guess that I found the video to be really funny and pretty accurate.

McCain doesn't get the media coverage that Obama gets and the press does seem to be in love with Obama and thinks that he can do no wrong...

When they've done polls in the past, the overwhelming majority of journalists are Democrats. So I think even if they "think" they're unbiased, I'm sure their natural prejudices show through. The love affair with Obama began even before McCain. That was one of the complaints of Hillary Clinton's campaign (they even did a Saturday Night Live skit on it) about how the media LOVED Obama and she couldn't get equal time or all the stories about him were always presented positively and those about her more negatively.

Unfortunately that's the way it has been for the last few elections and I don't see it ending anytime soon. That's why it's important for people to see beyond media hype and make their decisions based on their OWN beliefs and not what they hear on TV....regardless of which way they lean.

Well, those same "overwhelmingly democrat" reporters gave Bush a free ride for a very long time. Everything was pro-Bush. If you questioned the war, you were labelled unpatriotic. Kerry was put in a very negative light during his campaign. So it all balances out in the long run, I guess.

The thing with Obama, I think, is simply the historic nature of his candidacy. It would have been the same if it were Hillary. Historic. If the republicans had an ethnic or woman candidate, they would be getting the spotlite.

I can't get to the video here at work.

I'm just going to say that John Edwards (who I still am secretly hoping will get the Democratic nomination ) really got the shaft when it came to running against Obama and Clinton just a few months ago.

I agree re: Edwards. Poor guy. There was just no way for a good looking white guy to compete against those two!
