Wow what a SAD story.

This woman in Mass felt she had no other option and faxed a letter to the bank that was forclosing on her house that by the time they finished, she would be dead.

The company sent the police and they found her body with a note telling her family to use the life insurance policy to pay off the house. That SO stinks that she took her own life for that. I wish she would have knows that, unfortunatly, most life insurance policies have a clause that if you commit suicide, your family recieves nothing.

Wow sad is right. I could never imagine feeling so desperate as to commit suicide over a forclosure and I have come within hours of having my own home forclosed on several years back.

Likewise, must be a sign of the times as we had a man here who has reeked havoc on law enforcement during the last week over having his own home forclosed on over a year ago.

That was an incredibly selfish act.....her family would MUCH rather have
her alive than to have the house.....

The insurance company I work for does pay on the life insurance if 24 months have passed. It does however have to be to the date -- we had one denied for 23 months and 19 days. Not a good deal for anyone involved.

I saw this in the paper. Unfortunately it doesnt really surprise me considering how hard the economy is on everyone. And the sad part is the husband had no clue the house was going into foreclosure. Terrible story all around.
