Life is all about the choices we make. I don't feel sorry for them.

i personally don't think they should have been allowed to do so. i think there needs to be a dual ownership something so that people can't do that at all someone else could have gotten a house that would not have gambled it. i agree also that these homes do not need to be so extravagant they can be a nice liveable home that would suit these peoples needs.

I hate this show as well. Some of the improvements done are SO high-end, they are ridiculous for people who could actually afford them. Then I wonder how the people are going to pay for the increased taxes, utility bills, etc. on a house with so much more space or gadgetry. And I've often wondered why go so far over the top w/ some of the stuff when some of that could be used to help yet another family.

I think its all done for ratings. I mean, if they just built modest little bungalows really who would watch? This way it is more like a home improvement/decorating show. Don't get me wrong, I think they Should build the modest little bungalows - they could help so many more people. But who would watch the show then?

So, they were given money to pay taxes on the house for the next 25 years. What the heck did they do with THAT money? Ugh -- talk about clueless.
