Mailman campaigns to wear skirt - CNN.com

I'm not sure how I feel about this one. My only concern is that it will become a slippery slope and you'll have people campaigning to wear all sorts of crazy garb based on their comfort level. It seems if he went to all the effort to get a kilt made he could have gotten some more comfortable pants made instead.

I have no problem with men wearing kilts. In fact there is something a little sexy about a man wearing a kilt (not a skirt). When I was a child I lived in Scotland for about 3 years. The only times we ever really saw men wearing kilts was during major gatherings. They weren't really a part of an every day wardrobe.

I've no problem with it. He seems to have a good reason for it. At my office, there are some VERY large women, and I notice they wear full skirts all the time. Probably can't find pants that fit them. If his thighs are so big that pants and shorts cause chafing and discomfort, I don't see why a uniform that is allowed for female postal workers can't be worn by him if he needs it. It used to unheard of for women to wear pants. Men have worn skirted outfits for most of human history, except in the most recent centuries. It's not revealing. And it's not "crazy garb."

As long as they can get the mail delivered on time, I couldn't care less what the mail carriers are wearing.

Really, it does work both ways. If a woman was told she could only wear a skirt and no pants, the would be an uproar, lol.

You are right that it's not crazy. I guess I was thinking that (and I know this is extreme but possible) that someone would want to wear a bikini and have some 'valid' reasoning behind it.

My dh is overweight and his pants are usually relaxed fit because there is more room in the thighs. I just thought the kilt guy was doing it more for the notoriety than comfort but I'm probably wrong.
