14 WFIE, The Tri-State's News Leader: KY mom asked to leave while breastfeeding

So, what do you think? Should she have been made to leave or not?

You know, for being such a developed country we sure get our panties in a bunch over breastfeeding. It's a natural thing and when a baby needs to eat you should be able to feed them in peace. I'll never understand people like that manager or anyone who gets offended by it.

I was a breastfeeding mom to three but never liked to do it in public and honestly, don't like when other women feel the need to pull out their boob and not cover up to some degree in public. Especially when mine or other children are around. I did nurse in front of my kids without covering up but they're mine.

I don't think it was right for this manager to tell this person to leave or for the police to back her up, but I would have been annoyed if I had been there with my family in McDonald's and saw this woman nursing with it all showing. Even when I did nurse in public places, I did so discreetly and have seen it done so many times. I just wish every women would do the same.

We don't now how much was showing if anything was... But No she shouldn't have had to leave... She is feeding her child. There is nothing wrong with that...

You have got to be kidding?!? I have absolutely no problem w/moms nursing in public. Breasts are for breastfeeding. I just can't get over how taboo it is in this country. I also have no problems with my kids seeing someone breastfeeding. They have seen me doing it (actually they see more pumping than anything--long story) and aren't phased by it at all. My hope is that the future generations won't have the same hang ups that ours and our parents have about breastfeeding. *sigh*

This country is way more uptight about sex than most others.

Well, I can't read the article, it's blocked on my computer.. but I will say that I have no problem with women breastfeeding, just don't do it in public.. And if the need arises, do it discreetly. I breastfed my two kids and plan to with this one, but I do think it is distasteful to see anyone breastfeeding...especially in a public place.

I totally agree with Carlitasway.

The law protects breastfeeding mothers. The manager was clearly in the wrong. That woman had every right to nurse her child there. I nursed my kids wherever, whenever they were hungry. I tried to do it discreetly, but it didn't always work out perfectly. If you don't want to see it, don't look.

Is a mother suppose to stay home all the time cause they want to BF there babies? NO WAY

sorry but I have 2 other kids and refuse to make them stay home and well
I need to get things done and errands done and a BF mother cannot be gone too long from a baby whom needs to BF.

I am a person who does try to cover up as I do not want people to see my private parts but I also know things happen babies arms flail sometime
and the blanket can be thrown off etc. I try to find places but I am also not sitting on a bathroom floor just to feed my baby.
